Cornish Scone Company review

We have been very lucky here at Cornish Tea to be sent a delicious box of goodies from the Cornish Scone Company. They are based near Saltash in Cornwall and provide a delivery service for Cornish Cream Teas. All the scones are freshly baked using traditional methods and they use some of the finest products that Cornwall has to offer.

The Cream Tea arrived in a very well protected cardboard box and all of the products were completely undamaged.

The 2x fruit scones were wrapped in branded paper and the Roddas clotted cream which needs no introduction, was encased in special, cold protective bubble wrap. There were x2 pots of strawberry jam as well the mighty Smugglers Brew tea sitting proudly on top of all of these yummy treats.

I couldn’t wait to tuck in!

The Scones that we had sent were freshly baked fruit scones. They looked amazing and had the welcoming split along the side ready to tear open.

I went downstairs and made myself a cup of Smugglers Brew Cornish Tea using one of the tag and envelope tea bags provided. Trotting upstairs I was needless to say very excited and couldn’t wait to tuck in!

Now, I am a bit of a self-confessed scone lover and these did not disappoint in the slightest. Beautiful texture and consistency. I split the scone apart with my hands and it pulled apart superbly.

Any proper Cornish person will notice that the jam and the clotted cream are totally incorrect for a Cornish cream Tea. I can only blame this moment of utter madness on the fact the person who spread this was from out of the region. She has learnt her lesson and said whilst in Cornwall will never make such a silly mistake again!!!

I can highly recommend this service to anyone wanting to have a Cornish Cream Tea delivered to your door or as something to send as a gift.

Equally I think these would be a fantastic edition to any holiday home. Head over to www.cornishsconecompany.co.uk and get yourself a little piece of Cornish happiness!
