Our story starts in 2012, when our owner and founder, Duncan Bond, saw a gap in the market and decided to fill it with his own brand of Cornish Tea.
For the past 12 years, we have been incorporating the tase of Cornwall into our tea and coffee. From the tops of our heads (the charming seaside town of Bude and iconic 'coming home' trees of Launceston) to the tips of our toes (the famous Lizard Point), we are truly devoted to sharing the traditions and stunning atmosphere of Cornwall.
The production and sustainability of our teas
In our increasingly modern world, it has become almost secoond nature to assume the things we use in our daily lives, are simply made by machinery. Whilst this assumption is pretty realistic, here at Cornish Tea, we do it differently.
We have our own onsite factory in which our tea is put into their bags by our IMA machine, then wrapped in foil paper made from natural wood pulp, and sorted (by hand) into recycled FSC cardboard boxes: that have been put together... you guessed it.. by hand! Then, your orders are hand packaged with extra care. All of this is done by our amazing production of the world we live in.
For example, old/damaged cardboard packaging is shredded and reused inside of orders to help protect the items whilst there in transit to your doorstep.
Before this, our raw products are annually transported over to us here in Cornwall, ensuring minimal carbon footprint because there is no extra travel, but slide keeping our products consistent.
Our products also have instructions on how to best recycle them, as you all know, they're fully plastic free: the product across to the package.
Our tea bags are not made of plastic and are biodegradable (we were one of the first the companies to convert to plastic-free tea bags), and we have worked hard to ensure the bags are just as efficient as the traditional tea bags. Currently, we use cornstarch tea bag paper, but not worry- the tea tastes no different!
What are we about?
Here at Cornish Tea and Coffee, we supply to local businesses and also globally- we believe everyone should experience the wonders of Cornwall- and what better way than to do it the proper Conish way, with a real honest cuppa!
Which products and why?
Our authentic teas and coffees range from loose leaf tea's, ground coffee, hot chocolate, organic fusions, and decaffeinated coffees/teas.
The UK Tea & Infusions Associations days 84% of the UK's population drinks tea every dy. Considering the UK's population was at 66.97 million (as of 2022), that' 56254800 people drinking tea each day.
Roughly 98% of these brews are served with milk: if you're a tea with milk lover, we strongly recommend our iconic Smuggler's Brew!
Milk in tea not your thing? Our loose leafs work just as well with no milk! We range from the fresh Peppermint or Green Tea, to the fruity Red Berry, to the floral Earl Grey, the seasonal Chai spice and Winter Tea, and all then way to the traditional Cornish Breakfast- available decaffeinated if you prefer.
We understand that caffeine doesn't suit everyone- it might not be your cup of tea! - so we have plenty of teas and coffees caffeine free that don't compromise our all important flavour.
If you don't fancy a loose leaf, we have plenty of organic fusions! The Earl Grey, Mint Tea, Red Berry, Cornish Breakfast and Green Tea are all available as fusions or loose leaf, but we also have some bolder flavours as fusions...
The light and refreshing Mango is a perfect tea to enjoy in the sun! Our Vanilla Chai is a sweeter alternative to the Chai Tea, and the gentle sweetness of the vanilla blended perfectly with the warm, spiced chai ales it perfect for an autumnal night in! Another relaxing tea is the famous Chamomile- a calming treat to the senses.
A just as delicious tea is the Strawberry, Chilli and White Tea; the contrast of spice of the chillis and hr sweetness of the strawberries makes the perfect cuppa with an edge! Our Roobois has a slight zing from citrus peels added to its sweet and nutty flavour, creating an all-around very herbal tea, that's caffeine free!
At Cornish Tea and Coffee, we don't just stop where the name ends. After all, what Cornish kids don't enjoy s hot chocolate after a rainy day- which is most days. This is a timelessly popular drink, and our version does not disappoint. It's everything you could imagine- thick, creamy, smooth and warm; the typically cold Cornish evenings were made for our hot chocolate.
Sometimes, you really can't beat a good old cup of coffee! Wether you like your coffee sharp like our Stupidly Strong coffee, or soft like the Columbian Smooth, we've got every kind of coffee you could want! The Italian Style is a perfect representation of the Italian's love for a dark roast coffee- but if you prefer a medium roast, our Premium Beans or Weckers Roast beans are much more suited to you! Don't worry, we still have the good all-timer Original Ground Coffee. We have a variation of forms of our coffee to fit you: beans, ground, instant and pods.
