Our journey starts long before the tea reaches Cornwall.
The teas that make up Smugglers Brew are sourced from Zimbabwe and Malawi before being carefully blended to create the brew you know and love. It's especially suited to Cornwall's soft water, but tastes fantastic wherever you put the kettle on.
Once the blend arrives in Cornwall, that's where the magic really starts.
At the heart of our operation is our impressive IMA machine, the powerhouse behind Smugglers Brew, capable of producing over one million tea bags every single day with expert precision and consistency. Each tea bag is carefully crafted before moving through to be foiled for freshness in our biodegradable inner packaging, helping to lock in that just-packed flavour while reducing our environmental impact.
From there, our incredible production team keep the line moving, hand packing every box of Smugglers Brew with the care and attention that has become synonymous with our little orange box. Whether it's heading to a kitchen cupboard at home, a local café, a hotel breakfast room or any one of our many fantastic customers, every box passes through the hands of our team here in Cornwall.
And the journey doesn't stop there.
Everything is handled in-house right here in Cornwall. From design and packaging to marketing, sales and customer service, our team is involved every step of the way. We even have our own local delivery drivers supporting fantastic hospitality and retail customers across the region.
Our little orange box has come a long way since 2012, growing from an idea into a brew enjoyed by thousands of people every day.
